Mikayla loves dancing--she calls it diarrea (ballerina) dancing. Once she got her ballet slippers she puts them on and dances around on her tip toes. On the first night Josh was home, she took off her pjs in the middle of the night and put her whole outfit on: ballet slippers, leotard, and tights!
She loves to play out the parts of Sleeping Beauty---she walks to the green light-touches the spindle and then passes out until the Prince comes and kisses her. The kiss must be on her 'whips'. She then dances with him (usually daddy)
SHe also is Cinderella-she runs off, drops a shoe, and exclaims that she is late. This is usually her sparkly shoes-silver Dorothy-like shoes. SHe has to show everyone she encounters that she is wearing her sparkly shoes.

Java-a good dog
Java died on 9/9/07. It was difficult because although she had a difficult week we were not prepared-but when are you? She had been fine the week before but on Tuesday I took her in to get her teeth cleaned. I had a weird feeling when I left then-maybe it was worth listening to. She had 20 teeth pulled. So, that night she lost a lot of blood.
Mikayla was so good with her that night. Java slept in the spare bathroom and Mikayla slept outside in the hallway so she could watch her. It was so touching!
By Saturday, she still hadn't eaten hardly anything and Leni took her to the vet. They thought she would need a blood transfusion because her hemoglobin was so low. By that night, she had taken her to the emergi-vet and they gave her the transfusion and and then she couldn't breathe and her heartrate was irregular.
Since we were at the hospital, Dan got the call in the morning and was able to go up and say goodbye. It was the worst and the best time for this to happen. The best because we were so occupied with Joshua but the best at the same time this also took away the joy of the day of bringing Josh home.
She was a good dog and she will be missed immensely. I feel so bad for Dan because she had been with him for 11 years through thick and thin.
